My name is Cheng Chun Fung Matthew. I am currently studying Assoicate of Business Administration in Accountancy at Community College of City University.

 

I am a teenager who enjoys both physical and sedentary activities. Instead of just enjoying an activity, I always participate in competitions. It is because I have a strong desire to succeed. For example, I really had my confidence boosted when I scored an individual second in the Inter-School Fencing Competition. I understand even though I have tried hard in practice, I may not get good results in competitions. It would be a hard time for me but I could always learn a valuable lesson when I overcome my fear of failure. I have adopted this experience-never give up-into my daily life and my method of studying, which helps me to face different challenges and acquire knowledge and skills.

I think doing exercise give me a chance to understand more about myself, both my strengths and the weaknesses. On the other hand, I think enjoying sedentary activities is a way to express myself. For example, I have participated in the solo verse speaking in the School Speech Festival. I have learnt how to give a speech in front of many people expressively Now, I feel comfortable to talk and I enjoy talking and sharing my experience with others. Besides, I play the violin and I love stage performances in front of my friends. I think playing the violin is a way to release my pressure and the clapping is a recognition for me.

I am a logical person. I believe everything has a set order and method. I have a strong sense of curiosity. I find that I have a great interest in learning and understanding how things happened and why they happened.  After studying accounting for more than 3 years, I am sure that I have made a right choice. I have developed a strong interest in accounting and I have excellent results in this subject in exams. Therefore I would like to continue further study in this field at degree programme at the university. Studying accounting would provide me with logic and understanding of various idea and logic. Despite the keen competition of the future career of this program, I think I have the ability to adapt and face these challenge. Life is full of challenges but I think my passion in studying and my experience in sport have fully prepared me to move forwards to university.
